1. Add a Chandelier or some fun Pendants
Picture
Lighting can make or break a space. Adding a fun chandelier, some pendants or even just replacing your existing lighting can be easy, affordable and completely transform and refresh your space!
If you're going for an elegant touch, a chandelier above the tub is my new favorite thing to do!
The options are truly endless when it comes to new lighting, maybe just throw a lamp in there, who knows what kind of eclectic touch your bathroom might need!

2. Change out your Vanity-- add a fun faucet and sink!
The coolest thing about vanities is, if you try hard enough, they can be made from anything! An old dresser, a bench, a bucket? Really! Make it your own! I love the idea of an old desk as a vanity with a vessel sink, wouldn't that be darling? I love how much the look of the bathroom above changed just by changing out the vanity to lighten up the space! How cool!
3. Add some fun accessories!
Ever thought about just changing out your mirrors, perhaps moving a medicine cabinet or adding a lamp or some flowers? Small touches like this can go a long way and do wonders on a small bathroom! Guests notice attention to detail and adorable personalized touches!

Now go get re-modeling! Call me with questions or advice! Let's do your bathroom too!

So you've decided to redecorate a room in your home. You start your search for new decor, excited and eager to freshen things up...until you see all of your choices. With so many colors and ideas out there starting a new project can be overwhelming. Where to start? Choose a color scheme. Here are some easy tips to help you narrow down that growing pile of options.

Starting from scratch? Choosing a color scheme can be tough, you have to chose colors that you can live with seeing and being surrounded by everyday. The best way to get an idea of the colors you enjoy is to take a look at the color of your clothes. When it comes to clothes shopping, most people know what colors they like and what colors they look good in. Similarly, you should decorate your rooms with colors you prefer. If you love to wear blue, you'll probably love your living room with shades of blue. If you don't wear red, don't buy a red couch. Surround yourself with colors you like and your home will instantly feel more comfortable.
Start with the formal areas of your home. These include the living room, dining room and entry way. Choose your color scheme for these areas first, then pull one color from the space to inspire other spaces. For example, after a look in your closet you notcied you loved the color blue and decided to go with a blue color scheme in your living room. Take this color scheme and mute it for other spaces in your home. Say, a bedroom or office, and chose navy blues or grays with blue undertones to decorate these areas. This will ensure your home flows from room to room.

Make your home feel new again with a throw pillow, new paint, or a few pieces of art. Add some fresh design elements to your space and breathe new life into the room. Modifications don't have to be giant projects. We believe they can be easy and budget-friendly. Here are three fun ways to make a room feel fresh.

#1 Add Some Throw Pillows
Have a living room or bedroom calling out for a fresh look? Introducing a few new throw pillows is a quick and easy fix. This is a fun and inexpensive way to add new colors and design styles to your space. Need some ideas? We can help you blend the right colors, patterns and textures for an effortless, yet coordinated look.

#2 Refresh Your Drapery
Adding new drapery to a living room, dining room or bedroom is an easy, yet dramatic way to breathe new life into an old space. Choosing the right color, texture and placement are crucial when it comes to drapery. Working with drapes can be a bit challenging, but well worth the effort. If done correctly, drapes can make an existing space much more interesting.

#3 Update or Add a Gallery Wall
This design element has been gaining major popularity lately. Adding a Gallery Wall is a great way to show off your tastes, interests and family. No matter the size, adding a gallery wall instantly adds style to any wall. When creating your wall, don't be afraid to mix different sizes, shapes and styles. You want this wall to be fun and interesting. Most importantly, make your wall represent you!

A room should be both creative and practical. Every detail truly makes a difference. So add some color, introduce new pieces, and most importantly, have a little fun

As Spring approaches, so does my need to get some Spring cleaning done, and honestly to refresh and brighten the space I've been hiding in all winter long. Please tell me I'm not alone here.
My Pinterest starts blooming all of these fun DIY ideas, and I get the need to at least move all the furniture in my house around and put up some new, refreshing paintings and things.

The best way to do this is by figuring out the best layouts for your space.

This graphic is an excellent way to keep all the furniture you already have at your house and maybe just rearrange it to get a fresh outlook. Selling a piece on craigslist and picking up a new one at the Antique store, or a garage sale is an excellent way to add some new spunk to your space!

Here are a few examples of some different styles of living rooms with fun accents that might give you some inspiration to clean out, refresh and re-style your space!

When I think of chalkboards it takes me back to my childhood. Even though now gone are the chalkboards in school, updated with dry erase boards, I still associate them with creativity.
Using chalkboard paint is a design feature that can fit into any style home and almost any room. The options are limitless!

I have a chalkboard that I created and my family has used it for years as a place to mark the holidays with a custom art piece. They also keep track of weekly chores and commitments. For me it is an evolving surface of art and communication. I truly enjoy this design element!
I hope you can be inspired by the applications of chalkboard paint in these spaces and share any ideas you have!
